OUTDOOR ADVENTURE SUMMER CAMPS 2016

Just five hours from Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad, Outdoor Adventure's SUMMER CAMP is a popular summer and winter vacation Camp and is famous for its natural beauty. With easily reachable by train, buses and access to modern medical services, rivers and jungle, over 50 kilometers of forests and walking trails and numerous nature hikes and mountain bike trails, Outdoor Adventure's SUMMER CAMP is not only the prettiest and most exciting place for a summer camp, but also the safest.

Camp Locations : Corbett Park, Nainital and Ranikhet

Eligibility: Teenagers 09-15 Years

Dates and Fees: Runs for 5 weeks in May and June (during summer vacations) and in the last week of December during winter vacations. Arrivals and departures as per schedules. You can write us for Price and current year's dates.

Programs: Get ready for extreme outdoor adventure. Jump into structured rock climbing, hiking, orienteering, camping, mountaineering, and jeep and elephant safaris. If you are 09 -15 years of age and think you are ready for something new and challenging, this summer camp is for you. For parents and students close to Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon looking for outdoor summer and winter camps with activities like rock climbing, hiking and mountain biking terrain, Outdoor Adventure's SUMMER CAMP are an adventure seeker’s dream. You will join a small group of teens who, like you, are ready for more than what a standard summer camp and winter camp offers. Together, you and your group will learn from the best as your coaches teach you to climb, mountain bike, hike, inform about flora and fauna, outdoor survival and camp in Outdoor Adventure's SUMMER CAMP, India’s most exciting outdoor adventure playground near Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon. You’ll learn important outdoor survival skills and first aid before heading off with staff and campers on a three/five-day wilderness sleepover in the Coastal Mountains and the wildness of Corbett National Park. You will learn back country trip planning skills including gear selection, packing, meal planning, wilderness safety and first aid.

Football/ Basketball/ Chess/ Dances : Professional football/basketball & Chess coaching, special classes for Indian Classical form of Dances Kathak and bharat Nattyam particularly and off course Bollywood style also, adventure activities and village interactions with local sight seeing. (15 & 30 days)

Photography/Art (Cultural treks): Training in photography, guided art and drawing experiments, hikes through forests, rivers, villages, ancient temples and interesting small towns. Special interest outdoor photography. (15 days)

Geographic Trek : Explorations of river systems, wild and human habitats and different forest/ flora and fauna at different altitude types. Photography and film making. (7-10 days)

Action Himalaya : Jeep Safari, Elephant Safari, Mountain biking, kayaking, jungle camping, night treks, star gazing, tree climbing, mountain climbing, adventure activities, cave explorations and working in the village and farm fields. (8-12 days)

School Program (Multi-activity camps) : Giving a variety of experiences to different tastes. These combine adventure, nature and village interaction. (3-5 days)

SUPW Camps : In which kids do a service project in the village in close collaboration with the local community. (min. 4-5 days)

Winter & Summer Treks : Geographical and Biological, Short treks in the Shivalliks (4 days) and Long treks in Higher Himalayas(7-10 days)

Wildlife : Getting into the magical natural world of animals, birds and jungles. Adventure activities. Photography. Documentation and exhibits in schools. (4 days)

You will learn mountain biking skills from outdoor adventure camps riders and test your skills. And when you are ready to cool off, you will head to the lake for your body surfing lessons and a whole lot of fun! We’ve also scheduled plenty of time for evening activities and excursions with campers in the other programs so get ready for the best summer of your life! No prior outdoor camping experience required to join our programs but students should have been stayed away from the parents.

We split groups up according to their ability so everyone progresses properly. Overnight Camping trips every other week, you will take part in a three to seven day hiking and camping trip in the mountains. Part of the fun is the trip planning and you will learn how to cook food for meals during outdoor camping, water conservation. With your counselors and fellow campers, you will explore some of the most beautiful parts in the region, as you hike and camp in the rugged mountains and riversides around outdoor camping. On these trips campers will hike or be in the outdoors between 3-4 hours per day. Campers should be of good health and fit enough to handle this part of the program, should understand English/Hindi as instructors will teach you the skills you need to know to enjoy top rope climbing and fresh water body surfing. Our programs are outdoor adventure and challenge based experiences for 9-15 year olds that are conducted in the wilderness. Our on campus programs are typically 3-5-7 day experiences on one of our 3 campuses across the Uttrakhand. Children stay in tented accommodation on camp and participate in activities, challenges, learning and informal fun sessions around the campus. Our expedition-based programs have a higher challenge level – participants move camp on most days and set up their own campsites and manage group chores.

Campus Programs

Our week-long on camp programs for 9-15 year olds use adventure, art and community to create powerful learning experiences. Mornings are spent on a WOW activity - participants choose from adventure activities like Rock Climbing, Wilderness Craft, White Water Rafting, the Ropes Course - where they learn relevant skills for their level. These work towards building confidence, pushing oneself and building on success experiences.

Post lunch is COOL time designed to address three areas:

Activities: Hobbies and interest based sessions like Foot ball, Basketball, Chess, Indain Dances, Photography, Music, Archery, Rifle Shooting etc.

Attitude: Challenges and tasks that allow participants to explore their attitude in interpersonal situations like group problem-solving, Planning, Coordination and goal setting.

Awareness: Session that work at sensitizing participants towards their environment and surroundings. This includes village visits, community work, health and cleanliness awareness campaigns in the village etc.

Late evenings are around the campfire—for informal activities, music and other fun.

Outdoor Survival: Learn how to manage & survive with minimal resources in the wilderness. Improvised shelter making, fire making, map reading, navigating with compass, signaling are only some of the cool techniques you will master

Rock Climbing: This is an activity in which participants climb up, down or across wall/natural rock formations. Rock climbing is a physically & mentally demanding sport, one that often tests a climber's strength, endurance, agility and balance along with mental control.

Jeep Safari: Safaris are an extension to the outdoor adventures. In fact, jungle safari tours have added excitement and fun to the outdoor adventure. There are number of ways to cover the wilderness. You can explore the richness of flora and fauna with the Safari that unfolds the beauty of the Jim Corbett Park in India. The Indian wildlife safari explores the basic wilderness still alive in the Jim Corbett National Park.

Elephant Safari :Journey on the Elephant back is the most exclusive safari. Elephant safaris not only make it possible to view wildlife from the back of an elephant, but perhaps more importantly, provide the unique opportunity to share a day in the life of the elephant.

Walks & Treks : We also offer and arrange Village Walks & Trekking in Kumaon Himalayas. We have designed trips with you in mind - whether you are a novice with no trekking experience, but have a desire to trek or whether you are an experienced mountain walker looking for wider options. Our treks in Himalayas range from easy adventures for the family to strenuous ones for those seeking high outdoor adventure!

Rappelling: This exercise of using the ropes and harness helps you to learn the skills of climbing down the wall.

River Crossing: You also learn the act of river crossing over the base tied across the stream near the camp.

Splash Swimming: The presence of perennial stream around the camp present good opportunities for day picnics around small pools up in the valley hidden from the whatsoever little population that exists in the area.

Cave Exploration: This in itself is a unique activity around our camp area. The cave has stalactites and stalagmites formation (which takes many years to form). You reach the cave by doing a short trek and then explore the cave from inside.

Body Surfing: Moving from one point to the other with the flow of the river. This is seasonal since flow of the river current changes with time.

Obstacle Course: An obstacle course is a series of challenging physical obstacles, whose aim is to test the individual’s or a team’s speed and endurance. Our obstacle course is set up with burma bridge, flying fox, balancing beam,etc.

Ground Sports: There is provision for ground sports like Football, Basket Ball, Cricket, Volleyball and Badminton.

Local Excursions : Visit to Nainital/ Ranikhet/Binsar/Kausani: If in the Itinerary Campers can also visit one of the most famous hill stations Nainital/ Ranikhet/Binsar/Kausani from camps, they are in the radius of 30-70KM from our campsites, aprt from local sight seeing around camps including Village visit and Farm livings.
